The Combined Group Legal Department acts as the company’s peace of mind. It ensures that contracts signed by the company are fair and just from a legal point of view and that all the requisite legal clauses that allow the company to defend itself in court, should the need arise, are present in these contracts.
Should a dispute arise with any party, the Legal Department exhausts all efforts to attempt to reach an amicable settlement without ever reaching the courts. Only should all other possible means at a solution fail does a dispute get passed on to a legal office and the CGC Legal Department subsequently assists and supports the chosen legal office in securing the rights of CGC.
The Legal Department also oversees claims preparations from a legal standpoint and helps in ensuring that the company’s justifiable claims are properly filed and perseveres in its efforts until the claims are obtained or settled. In this regard, the Legal Department works closely with the Contracts and Claims section from the Technical Department to have both sides of claims covered: Legal and Technical.
