Unlike its lighter colored namesake, the process of taking oil from extraction to market is far more complicated.
Oil deposits may be anywhere: under polar ice, in the middle of the sea or under any type of soil. As such, special, and specialized, equipment costing millions are needed to extract the oil. Extracted oil is in crude form and varies in its chemical composition. It needs to be gathered into gathering stations and sent to refineries, sometimes around the globe, to refine the crude into the many possible usable derivatives. Refined oil, in one of its usable forms, is then sent to a wide array of destinations, sometimes thousands of miles apart, for further storage or usage.
To accomplish this, the oil industry is need of erecting extraction facilities, depots, refineries, gathering and forwarding stations and miles and miles and miles of pipelines; ergo, contracting companies.
Combined Group, being in the Arabian Gulf Region, was able to successfully enter into the oil sector related contracting activities and is in the process of aggressive lateral growth in the industry.
