Combined Group's Technical Department in Kuwait is the group's only complete services technical department.
The pre-qualification section handles the entire portfolio of pre-qualifications for the company and assists most other CGC companies in completing pre-qualification packages as required.
The department has four specialist tendering sections staffed with highly qualified cost estimator engineers and quantity surveyors working diligently to secure tenders in roads and infrastructure, buildings construction, mechanical works and oil sector contracting.
The Planning and Cost Control Section is where no stone is too small to be left unturned. The engineers there pour over every detail and map every activity and examine every dependency to chart out the critical path for the execution of projects in the most efficient possible manner.
Subsequently, the section's engineers analyze every detail coming out of the projects under execution checking for potential cost and time over-runs, recommending corrective measures where necessary, and examining execution methods for possibilities of cost savings and improvements in efficiency.
This section also caters to other companies within the group.
The Purchasing and Subcontractors Section is constantly at the heart of a flurry of never ending activity. The right materials with the right specifications at the right time and for the right price are not a small feat to accomplish. Subcontractors with the right skill set capable of delivering upon their contractual obligations and meeting the stringent and demanding CGC quality requirements are also extremely difficult to find. Now imagine having to do all of that for over 20 concurrently live projects at any one time! Yet, despite these challenges, the engineers and employees of the Purchasing and Subcontractors Section are more than equal to the task.
The Contracts and Claims Section are charged with pouring over all contracts to make sure they are fair and equitable and that their terms and conditions meet all CGC technical requirements. They are also the section concerned with ensuring all technical documentation for justifiable claims are complete and in order. In both regards, they work very closely with the CGC Legal Department
